Norsqui wins G2 Adelaide Cup

Wearing the Triabit, the Walter McShane trained Norsqui today won the G2 Adelaide Cup, starting at 25/1 and not really fancied by punters.

Jockey Chris Symons attributed the win to the horse being more settled, a trait of many Triabit-wearing horses. Norsqui just had too much left in the tank for his rivals at the end of the gruelling 2 mile race.

Ferlax wins G1 Australian Guineas

Ferlax, trained by Jim Conlan and ridden by Stephen Baster, continued his perfect race record with a wonderful win in the $500,000 G1 Australian Guineas at Flemington.

Baster positioned the Pentire colt on the speed after jumping well from a middle barrier. With a little over a furlong to go, he asked Ferlax for an effort and he put a gap on the rest of the field, holding to win by half a length.
